Background[]

It is mentioned that Roy was arrested and released on three occasions for alleged drug trafficking. At some point, Roy began buying quite a few properties, such as houses and clubs. Roy started a large drug operation; with the houses he bought he began manufacturing and packaging the drug. He then distributed it to the clubs and that the manager of the club was in charge of distributing it, one of the owners of those clubs was Kent Darby, who unknowingly hired Deputy Chief Miller's son, Darrell Miller, who also began selling and distribute drugs. However, at some point Darrell lost some drugs valued at 10 thousand dollars, so Kent became angry with him, threatening to kill him.

The Right Thing[]

At the beginning of the episode, Darrell Miller asks Hank Voight for help, because Roy and Kent were going to kill him if he didn't pay him their money, so the CPD decide to go set a trap for Darrell's supplier, Kent Darby. However, they soon realized that Darby had half a million dollars' worth of drugs in his possession, so realizing they were in the middle of a serious drug operation, they began investigating Roy's criminal network. At some point, Darrell wanted to set up Kent behind the police's back, going to Kent's club without warning, this causes Darrell to discover that Kent's club was a front for a drug, prostitution and child trafficking operation, encountering a 14-year-old minor named Sasha. Darrell tried to save Sasha, but was discovered by Kent, who became quite angry with Darrell and kidnapped him and Sasha. Roy saw how Kent took Darrell and Sasha, so he followed them under a bridge, there he argued with Kent for kidnapping Darrell, everything got worse when he discovered that Darrell had called Adam Ruzek to have a record of everything that happened, So Roy took Kent, Sasha and Darrell to an auto parts store owned by Roy, there Roy tortured and killed Darrell and subsequently disposed of the body at a power plant, hiding it behind a rocks. At that moment Sasha would escape when Kent left her in the car by herself. Roy knew that the police were following him and that they would soon discover his child trafficking network, so he went to the abandoned clothing store where he held the teenagers and girl's captive and killed them all to tie up the loose ends. After that event, a chase throughout Chicago began to capture Roy and Kent. In that hunt they manage to arrest several of Roy's henchmen and confiscate money and drugs. At some point, Kim Burgess went to investigate Roy's property without backup. However, when Burgess, Kent, arrived, repeatedly punching Kim in the head and forcibly removing her from her car, Burgess ended up passed out after all those hits.

Kent was dragging Kim; however she managed to wake up and began to try to get rid of Kent, but Kent knocked her out again with a blow to the head. After that Kent handcuffed Kim with his own handcuffs and took her to an abandoned warehouse. At that time Kent called Roy to tell him that he had kidnapped a police officer. Roy went to his uncle, Tim Hardy's house to borrow a car. Roy drove in his uncle's vehicle to the warehouse, Roy He arrived at the scene and as soon as he got out of the vehicle, he shot Kent dead. Kim pleaded for her life, saying that she had a daughter, however that did not matter to Roy, who shot her twice. Roy believed that Kim was dead, so Roy got rid of the car, abandoning the car in a lake, something that Roy did not know is that Kim had survived, Kim still with 2 gunshot wounds and being handcuffed managed to escape and get into a car that was in the back of the warehouse, later Hank Voight went to visit an associate of Roy Walton, Mark Irwin, who gave Voight a possible location of Roy, which was an auto shop, there Roy was preparing a car for escape, however at that moment Hank Voight arrived, Roy seeing him wanted to escape through the back door. However, Hank warned him that he had closed the back door, so there was no way for Roy to escape, Hank demanded that Roy give him told where he had left Kim Burgess, Roy responded that he would rather die than reveal that information to Hank. Hank dragged Roy across the ground with one hand and also began punching Roy, demanding to know where Kim was. Roy told Hank that he was never going to speak, and that there was no way to help Kim or his daughter, Hank hit Roy again, Walton only warned him that when they arrested him and saw his beaten face they were going to release him, at that moment Upton arrives, asking Hank not to kill Roy, just then Jay Halstead, Kevin Atwater and Adam Ruzek find Kim Burgess, listening to what Roy had done to Kim, Hank tries to kill Roy but Hailey stops him, Hailey tries convince Hank to arrest Roy and take him to the police station, Hailey manages to convince Hank and he asks Hailey to take Roy to the station, Hank opens the handcuffs that bind Roy, however this attempt to grab the Hank's gun when he was untied. Hailey pointed the gun at him and repeatedly yelled at Roy to leave Hank. However, Roy did not listen, causing Hailey to shoot Roy twice, killing him.
