Ray Lambert is a serial kidnapper, rapist and murderer.
Background[]
Ray worked as an Electrician, being very proficient at his job and having no history of trouble. He had few friends, and his neighbors thought of him as a stand-up guy.
However, he was secretly a rapist who used his position to scope the houses of clients who had a teenage daughter. Once he found said girl, he would stalk them for some time and learn their routines. He would carry this out on two known girls: Ally Larson and Claire Meyers. Ray followed both girls over the course of a year until deciding to act on his urges, he kidnapped Claire from her bed and abducted Annie after she stormed out her house after fighting with her parents.
He would keep both girls in a secret room in his basement, that was soundproof, and he kept both girls tied to their beds and subjecting them to his sadistic pleasure for years. Ray ultimately impregnated Claire who gave birth to his son Henry, who Ray genuinely loved and allowed more range around the house than his captives. To avoid suspicion with neighbors, he introduced Henry as his nephew.
Eventually, he was laid off from his job and began ranting on a website about having a failed love life.
No Regrets[]
One day, Ray discovered Ally was hurting Henry out of resentment towards him. Enraged at his son being harmed, Ray proceeded to attack Ally before bashing her head with a metal jar until she died.
After realizing his actions, he proceeded to dump Ally in a nearby park before being spotted by gangster Ramiro Lopez. Panicking, he hopped into his truck and drove off while Lopez dragged Ally into the light to help her but upon discovering she was dead, he fled the scene.
Knowing that Ally's body would get reported, Ray returned home and collected Henry from a protesting Claire while preparing to hide out until the heat died down. Indeed, the CPD Intelligence unit found Lopez who described the car Ray was driving and discovered Ray's identity from another stalker of Claire's until going to his house and rescuing Claire before making Henry's rescue their new priority.
In the meantime, Ray stole another truck and met his friend Brad Snider, asking him for money. However, Brad refused, and Ray proceeded to attack him with his gun and demanded Brad hand over his ATM card along with the pin and threatening Brad's young son if he notified the cops. The injured Brad was found by Intelligence and gave his story while clarifying he had no idea of Ray's actions and told them what car he was driving, which was later confirmed.
Gathering money, Ray booked a camping truck and left Henry there while going to get supplies and a toy for him. While at the store, he unknowingly bumped into Officer Kim Burgess, who notified her team of his whereabouts and intended to follow him. However, upon exiting, Ray spotted two patrol officers speaking to Hank Voight and Adam Ruzek, before he starts a shootout. He promptly flees while Intelligence and other officers pursue him until cornering him at the back of the store. Kim tried to peacefully negotiate with him to get info from him on Henry, but he tries to shoot at them only to be shot by another officer. Kim rushes to Ray, pleading that he tell her where Henry is, but he dies of the gunshot wound. However, the squad track his activities and locate Henry in a trailer in a forest where Ray's car was previously seen and manage to deliver him to his mother in time. At the hospital, Claire rejoices at Ray's death and stating her son is the one good thing that came out of her horrible experience.
