Mateo is a sadistic sicario who kidnapped Antonio's son, Diego, and deliver him out of Chicago in exchange for Pulpo.
Stepping Stone[]
We first see Mateo in Rev's apartment room with Rev tied up. On Puplo's orders Mateo and Ernesto drag Rev to the bathroom. Mateo then takes the cloth out of Rev's mouth as Puplo comes in with a machete. They would later start to shoot at the intelligence unit and escape Rev's apartment room. They would later go to Coop's house and kill him too. They then went to Shane Cameron's place and killed him. However, a knock on the door startles them. One of them shoot's the door and the bullet hits Julie Willhite a Police Detective. They all escape the apartment room. However, there boss Pulpo is caught and arrested. Knowing this they kidnap Antonio's son Diego.
Wrong Side of the Bars[]
After Ernesto was given a tense interrogation by Voight and Dawson, he was tracked down to a bus station. As soon as he realized he was surrounded by the police, he attempted to hold Diego at gunpoint, in which he had a standoff with Detective Lindsay. Detective Halstead managed to cause a distraction by ramming into the back of the bus, causing him to lose his balance and his grip on Diego. As he was regaining his balance, he was shot dead by Antonio.
Killed Victims[]
Rev: (Drug Dealer): Decapitated by Pulpo while Ernesto and Mateo held Rev down.
Coop: (Drug Dealer): Decapitated by Pulpo, assisted by Mateo and Ernesto.
Shane Cameron: (Drug Dealer): Shot in the chest by Pulpo, Ernesto or Mateo.
Julie Willhite: (Chicago Police Detective): Died after being shot in the neck by either Pulpo, Ernesto or Mateo.
