Background[]
Fifteen years ago, he would be an infamous drug lord of Chicago. His reign ended after he was arrested by Det. Hank Voight years ago, with his warehouse and followers (except Nathan Whitcomb) being apprehended as well. While incarcerated, Whitcomb called him and notified him of how his fortune of over two million dollars was also confiscated.
Actual Physical Violence[]
Due to Barbara's complaint against Voight, he would go free, and he would be seen in a televised report, saying that he found God inside the prison and that he was ready to reintegrate into society. When Voight would be having dinner with his son Justin, his wife and son, they would leave the house but when they were about to open the car, Hank heard a noise and realizes a detail and manages to save Justin, his wife and the baby by having them get down. Seconds later, the car explodes.
Debts of the Past[]
Voight and his family survive the car bomb, he investigates the attack against him together with the Chicago police, in which Alvin Olinsky calls him saying that they had to go urgently to a place where the charred body of Jacob Logan was found, member of the team that arrested Becket, later at the station Trudy Platt notifies Burgess and Sean Roman that in the bomb fragments that were recovered from Voight's car they found partial prints of 2 subjects, Enrique and Vicente Domínguez. Jay Halstead and Erin Lindsay talks with Beckett's lawyer, who is hostile because of their affiliation with Voight and tries to send them off but they bribe his upset secretary, and she gives them the number Beckett used to contact his lawyer, so they would have the current location of one of his phones. The whole team goes to the address and sees him leaving a store and getting into his car. Beckett gets out of the car and raises his hands, turns to look Voight in the eye, then he is arrested.
In his interrogation, Voight and Olinsky question him and Beckett tells them that a cop took a lot of their money and he had a decade to know it was a cop, realizing it was not Voight after he shows no clue but suspects Olinsky, in which Kevin Atwater enters the interrogation room and tells them that someone came to the police station, that person was Beckett's lawyer who tells them that it is not possible that Beckett carried out the attack since he had met with him the day of the attack and makes it clear that the lawsuit they are filing against Voight will have more grievances added. Alvin also denied the theft and it would be mentioned to Voight that Beckett would turn on a phone and call a specific person, that person was another officer Schultz, threatening to kill his son. After he was confronted, Schultz denied the theft and voices how he was unsure of trusting Voight or his unit until he was positive it was not him. Now we move on to Burgess and Roman, who see the Domínguez brothers, follow them to a house, Burgess and Roman arrest the 2 brothers and question them about the manufacture of the bombs that Beckett used, Alvin along with Greg would see Beckett's conversations and identify Nathan Whitcomb, who used to work for Beckett, the Chicago police would enter Whitcomb's house finding him with his wife and children. They would question Whitcomb about the $1 million that he stole from Beckett, in the end it would be confirmed that Whitcomb hired the Dominguez brothers to plant bombs in Voight and Olinsky's cars, but at the same time saying that it was all Beckett's idea.
Intelligence uses Whitcomb as bait for Beckett by having him admit to the upset Beckett that he was the one who really stole the money in order to find a new life for himself, promising him $200 thousand from selling his house, they would meet in a parking lot. When Beckett arrives, he throws some smoke grenades, making it difficult for the police to see him kidnap Whitcomb and flee. Taking him to another level of the area, he discovers the money is fake and realizing that Whitcomb was cooperating with the cops, he about to kill him, but Voight arrives just in time to stop him. Pushing Beckett away before striking him with his gun, causing Beckett to drop his weapon and in turn knock him to the ground, Voight subsequently kicks him, causing Beckett to get cornered. Grabbing Beckett's collar, Voight puts his gun to his head while holding him over a ledge and angrily lists his crimes: murder of a cop and attempting to kill his family. Greatly scared and struggling, he hears the angry Sergeant state he should've put a bullet in his head fifteen years ago and prepared to act on his threat. However, Olinsky arrives to calm his friend down and Voight relents but warns him that he will ensure that he never sees freedom again.
Intelligence ended up arresting Whitcomb and Beckett who is imprisoned again this time for good.
