Descent is the ninth episode of Season 6 of Chicago P.D.
Summary[]
In an attempt to dig himself out of a hole and save someone close to him, Antonio crosses a line that puts the entire team at risk.
Plot[]
Antonio is in the hospital for a medical checkup due to a blow to his left arm. When he arrives the doctor tells him that he is fine, there is no fracture and that he can leave. However, Antonio tells him that he is in a lot of pain, and that he wants him to prescribe more oxycodone pills. The doctor refuses and Antonio gets upset and leaves. Then, when he got to his house, he went to look in the bathroom if he had any oxycodone pills left. Not having them, he hits the mirror, wounding his hand.
He goes out at night to buy pills from a drug dealer but it turns out that dealer was already in the intelligence team's crosshairs and they planned to go capture him that night, something Antonio did not know.
When his companions arrived and he realized it, he ran away so that his companions would not see him, however, Kim Burgess runs after him, and when he could no longer escape, he turns around and identifies himself, leaving Kim very astonished and scared that it was him. She asks what is he doing, because she almost shot him and Antonio defends himself by saying that he was working undercover to capture that same trafficker, which was not true. He ran because he couldn't compromise his cover and because he did it off book. Kim believes it and has him leave the scene.
The next day, desperate and in need of taking pills, Antonio goes out to find another dealer, from whom he buys another type of drug. When he was leaving and was about to get into his vehicle, Sergeant Voight catches up with him and takes the drugs from him. At first, Antonio resisted, but then Voight reassured him that he was going to help him out of that problem. Antonio confesses to Voight and cries on his shoulder, telling him that yes, he accepts his help. When they arrive at Antonio's house, Voight entered to look for pills that could be hidden, and tells Antonio to pack a suitcase because he is going to take him to detox, but at that moment, Antonio receives a call from someone telling him that he had kidnapped his daughter Eva. The kidnapper tells him to get her back that he had to release the captured dealer who happens to be his cousin.
Voight gathers the whole team to do some official extra work and rescue Antonio's daughter. She had been kidnapped by the addict's companions who they captured the night Antonio escaped. After making several captures and interrogations, Voight is going to make the prisoner confess and forces him, in the style of Voight, to confess where they could have the girl. The team immediately goes where it was indicated, but it was no longer there; However, a person who was there, indicated where she could be. Voight again went to the prisoner and made him tell the truth of where Antonio's daughter was hiding, giving him a good beating. The entire team goes to that place, and they find Antonio's daughter tied up, beaten and raped; then the kidnapper runs away, but they catch up with him in a nearby building under construction. Antonio arrives and goes crazy, beating the guy, who provoked him by telling him how he had raped his daughter. Antonio continues to beat him, until he pushes him to a wooden wall which breaks and falls from the height of a fourth floor, immediately killing the kidnapper. Voight and Adam are left wondering, "what are we going to do now?" and Voight is left wondering how to solve this problem.
