Plot[]
In his interrogation, Hank and Olinsky question Beckett, with him telling them that he knows it was a cop that took a $1 million of his money, having a decade to consider it. After Hank shows no clue, Beckett suspects Olinsky, laughing at how dirty cops have no loyalty even amongst themselves. Before it can progress, Atwater enters the interrogation room and tells them that someone came to the police station, that person was Beckett's lawyer who tells them that it is not possible that Beckett carried out the attack since he had met with his lawyer the day of the attack. He also reveals if they keep up this treatment, he will add it to the lawsuit he is already pending towards Hank.
Hank has Olinsky enter his office and he denies the theft and leaves the precinct insulted.
The next day, Olinsky is preparing to leave for work but having second thoughts on his car, requests a taxi, and ignores a call from his wife. Alvin then goes to Antonio's gym, where he finds Michelle training. He briefly speaks with Antonio and greets Michelle before noticing the mouth guard. He grabs it to get her DNA for the paternity test.
Afterwards, Alvin arrives at the precinct where Greg reveals Beckett used the burner phones and made contact with someone else. The other person is revealed to be Schultz and he is interrogated if he took the money that belongs to Beckett, but he reveals he did not, and the calls Intelligence found he received from Beckett were actually threats. He reveals that Beckett had threatened his son, having his college name and dorm room. When questioned by Antonio as to why he did not inform them when they talked previously, Schultz angrily states he was not sure that he could trust them after Beckett put it in his head that either he or Alvin were responsible for the theft until he was positive it was not them. Now aware they did not know, he asked who they think did it.
Now we move on to Burgess and Roman, who see the Domínguez brothers, follow them to a house, Burgess and Roman arrest the brothers and question them about the manufacture of the bombs that Beckett used, However, they deny seeing Beckett.
Alvin along with Greg would see Beckett's conversations and identify Nathan Whitcomb, a gangster who used to work for Beckett, the CPD would enter Whitcomb's house finding him with his wife and children. They would question Whitcomb about the $1 million that he stole from Beckett. He denies it, though gets unnerved by the recording of his last talk with Beckett. Whitcomb demands his lawyer before Lindsay comes in to reveal there is more. It would be confirmed that Whitcomb hired the Dominguez brothers to plant bombs in Voight and Olinsky's cars. Having proven his car had a bomb strapped to it, Alvin proceeds to punch Whitcomb, who admits his theft but at the same time saying that the bombings was all Beckett's idea. He frantically states he was out of the game but was dragged into it, to protect himself by blaming the cops. Hank states he has a solution for the situation.
Intelligence uses Whitcomb as bait for Beckett by having him admit to the upset Beckett that he was the one who really stole the money in order to find a new life for himself, promising him $200 thousand and money from selling his house. After Beckett reluctantly accepts, they decide they would meet in a parking lot. When Beckett arrives, he throws some smoke grenades, making it difficult for the police to see him kidnap Whitcomb and flee. Taking him to another level of the area, he discovers the money is fake and throws it away, causing the floating money to be seen by Jay and Lindsay who report to Dawson that Beckett is a floor above them.
Realizing that Whitcomb was cooperating with the cops, he is about to kill him, but Hank arrives just in time to stop him. Pushing Beckett away before striking him with his gun, causing Beckett to drop his weapon and in turn knocks him to the ground. Hank subsequently kicks him, causing Beckett to get cornered. Grabbing Beckett's collar, Hank puts his gun to Beckett's head while holding him over a railing and angrily lists his crimes: murder of a cop and attempting to kill his family. Beckett becomes greatly scared and struggles, as the angry Sergeant states he should've just put a bullet in the criminal's head fifteen years ago and prepares to act on his threat. However, Alvin arrives to calm his friend down and Hank relents but warns him that he will ensure that he never sees freedom again. At that point, the rest of the unit appears and take Beckett and his former subordinate into custody for their crimes.
